Pome Fruits — Implementation Leafrollers in Apple
نویسنده
چکیده
Pandemis Leafroller Study site description. MD as a control for pandemis leafroller (PLR) was evaluated at a single study site in 1992. Six apple blocks (23.6 acres) were treated with Hamaki-con (Biocontrol, Ltd.) dispensers. These dispensers contain ca. 150 mg of Z11-14OAc, which is the main component of the PLR pheromone. Application rates of 250 d/a, 400 d/a, and two treatments of 400 d/a were evaluated. In addition, combination treatments of pheromone and Bt were tested.

Species specific identification of the Neofabraea pathogen complex associated with pome fruits using PCR and multiplex DNA amplification.
Five species of pathogenic fungi belong to Neofabraea. One of these, N. krawtzewii (syn. N. populi), is responsible for bark lesions on poplar (Populus) trees. The other four species cause post-harvest bull's eye rot of pome fruits, and at least two of these also cause bark cankers on pome fruit trees. Morphological variation among these species is slight, and overlap in geographic range someti...
متن کاملBiocontrol of postharvest decay using a new strain of Pseudomonas syringae CPA-5 in different cultivars of pome fruits
Epiphytic micro-organisms isolated from fruits and leaves surfaces of apples from different orchards were screened for antagonistic activity against Penicillium expansum. From all micro-organisms tested the new strain CPA-5 of Pseudomonas syringae, isolated from organic orchard, was selected. This strain was very effective against Botrytis cinerea, P. expansum and Rhizopus stolonifer at various...
متن کاملOverwintering Hosts for the Exotic Leafroller Parasitoid, Colpoclypeus florus: Implications for Habitat Manipulation to Augment Biological Control of Leafrollers in Pome Fruits
Thirty sites of managed and native habitats were surveyed for leafrollers (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) in the apple producing region of central Washington State and northern Oregon from September through November 1997-2000 to discover species that supported overwintering by the parasitoid Colpoclypeus florus (Walker) (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae). C. florus, a species introduced from Europe, requires...
متن کاملA Viroid Resembling Hop Stunt Viroid in Infected Apple Trees with Apple Scar Skin Disease in the Northeast of Iran
Abstract Background and Aims: Apple scar skin disease (ASSD) is one of the destructive diseases of pome fruits which is caused by ASSVd. Case presentation: We report molecular detection of ASSVd in symptomatic apples cv. Red Delicious with simultaneous presence of a new variant of HSVd from Khorasan Razavi province. Conclusion: This is the first report on the association of HSVd with...

At harvest, apple fruit are placed into wooden or plastic bins (approximately 400 kg of fruit per bin), which are then transported to storage and packing facilities. Prior to storage, fruit may be drenched with a fungicide to control postharvest diseases (10). Fruit are stored in the bins in either regular atmosphere (RA) or controlled atmosphere (CA) (1 to 2% O2 and 0.5% CO2) at –1 to 3°C (9)....
